Jun. 16th, 2009 01:54 amToday was a rather strange day, I suppose you could describe it like that anyway. I got up at 7.30 so me and Dad could leave the house by 8am to give us plenty of time to get to Worcester (sp?) so we could go to a funeral of an old family friend.
We were making okay time till halfway to Kidderminster, when suddenly we hit a traffic block. The police had blocked of the main road, so we skipped down the closest turning to a place called Arley, where we tried to loop back up onto the main road hoping to have missed the accident, only the road was blocked by police there too. We had to go all the way back to cross the main road onto another country lane, we followed some other cars on a turning right, only to nearly get back onto the main road again and find it blocked too >.o We had to go all the way down the country lane to a place called Kinver before we could go onto Kidderminster, where there was also a bit of a traffic problem. It had taken us practically an hour from the original road block to get past the outskirts of Kidderminster, all the time we'd allowed to find the Chapel where we got there.
We got to Worcester at 10ish, just as it was supposed to be starting, but then got a bit lost around the town and finally found ourselves and made it to the place at about 10.20. We were hoping to still catch the family and show them we were there, give condolances and all that but of course for our luck of the day the chapel was preparing for the next service and so we had a tour around the graveyard and carpark, seeing if there was anyone we recognised, but we couldn't find anyone.
We left after a while with some disappointment (if you know what I mean) and headed back to Kidderminster for maccies lunch, then we went to Stourbridge and had a go on the 2p slotties and got an ice cream which we ate down by the river before heading onto Rob & Denise's caravan. We stayed there for a while, dad chatting and we went for a walk near the caves, which have been sealed off again after a hillslide a few months ago which revealed some more caves.
Working tonight, I think I've said enough for now anyway XD Oh, we never did find out what that giant accident that messed us up for the day was. It wasn't on the news, or in the paper. How typical is that?
