I'm still in May omg. Last night Tony found someone on Facebook selling 4 degu girls + their cage for £50, after a bit of debating I went to see & collect them, the cage is pretty huge & awesome but diiiirty, I've got to clean it out in the next few days.
I'm having a bit of difficulty telling them apart but i'll give it a go!
First up is Dash, then Juno, Indie and lastly Kendrix. I tried coming up with names that made up four or went together as a four, but took me too long and I gave up so just used random names I liked XD

on 2010-06-15 10:06 pm (UTC)I was at the National Zoo (in Washington DC) and they have a bunch of these guys in the Small Mammal House, which always surprises me, because I think of them as pets. They make me think of a gerbil crossed with a chinchilla. How do they act? Are they like gerbils, or more wild?

on 2010-06-18 12:52 am (UTC)They are like giant gerbs pretty much! Only they have slightly different diets, but the way they act is very similar, if anything I think they could become just as tame quite easily, plus they live for about 8 years so plenty of time to get used to being handled!

But omg! Giant gerbiloids! Like teddy bears!

on 2010-06-18 12:56 am (UTC)I don't know what to do with Tais old cage yet though.
They can be handled, same as the gerbs, I bet Jen would get on with them really well, get them out everyday and they'll become tame like guinea pigs :]
