Me and Dad went to Newport for a little look about today, down and around the canal. There was some really nice wildlife around the reeds and wild areas too!
We went on another little tour today with the excuse of dropping off a little present at one of Dad's friends. Th countryside looks really nice but we must be getting used to the snow as it's kinda hard to find anything really nice to take photos of XD The canals are mostly frozen and have chunks of ice that had floated free now frozen back in XD
Into August I guess! Today I went to lots of different places with Dad. We started off at a small airport near Wolves that Dad has a helicopter flight from later this month. We watched some little planes fly out then went to a nearby vineyard that also has a few little shops, Dad had wanted to show me a craft shop that was there, it was huge! I got too much stuff there *.* We also had a mooch at an electric bike shop, Dad got persuaded to get one XD He'd been wanting one anyway, but he put down the deposit today XDD We went to the bratch last and watched a barge go through :]
Today I went with Dad to a lady he know who collects breweriana and also owns a dog kennels! x3 I didn't get pics of the dogs though, they were other people and it seemed weird XD i got to see lots of them though, like a shepard pup who nearly lost it's eye and was wearing a cone, a really friend but shy spaniel, 2 little yorkies which she owned, and had come from the RSPCA pretty much completely hairless ad a guard dog that had had a stroke, he was also an RSPCA rescue, when she took him in he was skin and bones and couldn't even stand, the rspca sued the owners of him. He had no manners and wasn't good with people, that's why he was kept as a guard dog, else he would've had to be put down. He let me pet him a little though x3 We stopped at a canal bridge on the way home too, but I couldn't get many pics because I'd forgotten my camera card x// That's why this one is lop-sided.
Today i was woken up a bit early (for me) to take Tony to the post office to pay customs charges on an item he'd been waiting on for about a month now. The excitement of finally having it quickly died though as it was missing a vital component...typical, that put Tony in a pretty bad mood, so while he emailed the seller at his house i went to mine to open the mail I got (customs free, thankfully) I got a new body for Harley, my pullip which I started to work on the Dad suggested we go to Newport, so i did that instead. I went to visit Tony quickly first to say good luck with his driving test though, he said he'd text when he knew. So Dad and I explored Newport a little. We checked out the tiny antiques/knick knack shop and then went to look at an auction being held today. Dad had felt like going to one after being reminded by the lunch time tv. We unfortunatly got there at the jewelry part of the sale, not uber exciting, but the prices were going so high! Everything sold for over £100, we even saw a watch go for over £5000 x/ we watched till jewelry bit was over, but after some more interesting items they got into paintings so we left. We went to B&M and got some drinks and spring bulbs for the garden. We went back to the car, then walked along the canal. We didnt get too far up though cause we spotted conker trees! We spent quite a while with dad knocking the pod things down and me collecting the conkers x3 of course it was pretty pointless cause I have no idea what to do with conkers now I've got them...except you're gonna see a pic of them later XD of course the real fun is collecting them ^^ Tony text me while we were collecting, unfortunatly he didn't pass, he nearly pulled out on a car that wasn't indicating and the examiner braked him, like the one that did to me, its an automatic fail :/ So we went to asda on the way home and I got him some chocolate, then I ran him to Pauls for the night as he had also been cancelled from work, it was just not his day today. Work was k but so many room services, I dunno what Stace was thinking letting Tony have the night off XD still, we managed. Pls excuse the typos, phone typing again.
Today I went with Dad and Rach to see Spaghetti juctions' canal system. It was pretty big, and looked like it would've been an interesting place to walk if Birmingham wasn't so creepy and littered. We went for a small walk but didn't stay much more than half and hour, when we went on towards going home through Dudley, where I got the pic of the castle, and then we also stopped at Asda and then Dad spotted some Damsons on the side of the road too so got a bagful which got made into jam tonight. The pony Dad got me yesterday from the Sunday market, I haven't got this one! But most strangely, I've not see the draw/dance spinner thing before which is quite odd for me! I'll have to go look it up on the net XD Tomorrow I'm going to Wales to visit Tony's parents, forcast isn't good but it'll be a cange of scenery- rain at the beach! woo! Yup...charging my gameboy now! I'm hoping to have a net connection via my phone so if you want to keep an eye on my flickr. I can upload images directly on my phone to there so I'll try getting some cruddy camera phone pics before I get home and show the pics I took with my proper camera here on LJ XD See you soon! x
Didn't have anything planned for today and didn't really know what to do so when we woke up we just watched some Big Bang Theory. While I was nets dossing dad rang and asked if I'd like to go to Cannock again so we did. We dropped Tony off at Pauls first then went onto Cannock Chase, where we had a nose in the visitors centre which was quite interesting then it had started raining so we ran back to the car rather than explore much. We went to the military cemetary I was trying to find yesterday next, it was quite sad but all very well tended, there were lots of different nationalities too, some English & NZ but the majority were Germans. We were on our way home after them but stopped when Dad spotted a canal so we had a wander along it, I don't know where that was though XD
Today I dropped Tony off at Pauls fairly early as they were going on a trip to pick up an ebay item. When I got home we had lunch then Dad suggested going to Newport & looking about to get out and enjoy the patchy-weathered day so away we went :] We went a roundabout way to Newport, and checked out a couple of shops while we were there, dad even got a brewery mentioning ceramic plaque. After we got some drinks from B&M we went onto Norbury Junction, a mooring place for canal barges. We simply found a bench and sat in the sun, we decided to sit there until the sun went in, which took a fair while but was fine people watching. Then we went onto Gnosall via a small explore walk on an old railway/now walking path, then had a small explore round Gnosall, looking at the church and taking pics. We only nearly got rained on once while we were in Newport, so for a day which threatened rain almost constantly it was good! Edit: I forgot to mention when I wrote this last night: the thatch cottage has a squirrel on top made of thatching stuff, that is this thatchers mark, along with the pattern along the top of the roof. The acorns I took a pic of cause the ones on the left have a bug in them so the oak has made this strange growth on the acorn to try and protect it or something. The acorn on the right is off the same tree for size/normalacy comparison...k done :]
Tony wanted some new tyres for the new mini car he bought on ebay the other day and after checking out a couple of crappy local model shops finally starteds ringing around to see if the shops we could find on Google were even model car shops (anyone want a girls modeling agency? Cause I know where they are now) and bif they even had the type of tyres he needed. Eventually he found one who only had the stock by fluke, but out in Kingswinford :/ I said we could go so long as we stopped and looked at something along the way. So after getting lost a few times remembering where Kingswinford actually is we got there about an hour later XD After Tony got his tyres we went to Wombourne and visited the canal locks there, called the Bratch. That was pretty shibby, we stated just over half an hour then went and got some crisps and went back again for a bit x3 Tonight I have off work again so again I'm lurking about the internet x3
