Really busy today, me and dad decided to do the river trip we'd been putting off, from Cressage to Ironbridge. It all went really smoothly too, except for an incident with a fisherman :x The only problem came in when we got back to my car to drive up to Dad and realised I didn't have the keys x.X Luckily I had my phone so Dad could call a friend to come pick us up. So stupid.
Later in the evening when everything was sorted we went to see what we could see of Status Quo, who were playing in Shrewsbury Quarry.
As you can see from my crappy pic, we didn't see too much XD

It was Tony's birthday today! He wanted to go for a drive and since it was a lovely day we took Tony's car out all the way to Portmadog beach :]
We had a little car picnic, explored the beach and even had a nap XD

Me, Dad and Jen went canoeing down the Wanganui river today! We did 8km, and didn't take quite as long as we did the first time we tried it XD
Mum, Jen & I went out for tea in the evening too as we couldn't go out yesterday.

The whole family got to go on a trip this time! We went to do the Taranaki Loop, today we mostly did Route 45.
We stopped at a little beach not long into the drive and explored a cool pier with big waves washing onto it now and then, then went over the beach to check out an old ship wreck! It's been there years. Jen climbed on it and I got some pics, then she took pics as I climbed on it....and promptly got soaked by a huuuge wave, which Jen didn't get pics of! Haha typical.
From there we carried on with the tour and saw loads of things, including those in the pictures below :]

More exploring today, we all went to Kai-iwi beach and played about a little, it was a bit windy on the seafront but better on the playpark x3
We also popped through Wanganui and looked at this sculpture they've put up, I really like it's shiny spherey-ness, and the 'crack' is actually map of the Wanganui river, which meets the sea in the town.
On our way back home we visited my Aunt and Uncle, who have some pigs, and some of them were only a few days old, d'awwww x3

We went on another little tour today with the excuse of dropping off a little present at one of Dad's friends. Th countryside looks really nice but we must be getting used to the snow as it's kinda hard to find anything really nice to take photos of XD
The canals are mostly frozen and have chunks of ice that had floated free now frozen back in XD

Lots of ducks
Countryside & home too )

Today we went to Yorkshire with Tony's Grandad, Mel :] It took us quite a while to get there, but I fell asleep for most the way so I didn't notice too much xp
We went back to Mel's first and had some tea and a bit of a relax, then went out to explore! He lives about 5 mins from the beach at Scarborough, so cool x3 So we walked along the beachfront and Mel pointed things out to us that were of interest, a lot has happened in Scarborough, I hadn't realised what an important town it used to be.
First is the giant hotel in Scarborough built in Victorian times I believe. Then I was lucky enough to be there when they were setting out a lifeboat for practice. The third some should recognise? And lastly is Scarborough lighthouse :]

We all had the day off today so we went to try out Dad's new boat! We were gonna paddle about in Ironbridge but they had a regatta on! what are the chances? So we went just a little further up river and paddled about to give it a bit more of a test, next time we will definitely be going down river a bit x] It's a lot of fun, but much easier to go down stream than against the current!
The other pic I took while we were over at Andre & Kay's, who I'm pretty sure I'm mentioned before...but if not, well they're some mates Tony made while he worked nights at the factory. We went over their house for a bit of a BBQ and a sit in the nice evening air as they have a balcony xp

Tony took this of course
Boring pic goes under the cut xp )

Today the main present I bought for Dad turned up, pretty good only one day late...stupid post.
I would've posted a better pic of the boat, frankly Dad took a better one, but this was the only picture I got today so I had to post it!

Today we went and visited Aber beach as usual, but there wasn't much to do and it quickly got too cold to go up the hill as i planned to do, fail!
I wasn't really done taking pics though so when we got back to the caravan I went on a proper explore of the site and got a bunch ^^

Today was another looooovely day, so me and Tony went for a random drive. We'd already decided to find somewhere random in wales, but we didn't know where. So when we saw the sign for lake Vyrnwy (said Vernie for english people ;D) and i couldn't remember what was there it seemed a good enough place to go x3
It took us ages to get there as the sign we followed went down a bunch of country lanes without much more informative signage.
We got there eventually though, it was the perfect day for paddling, and if we'd got there earlier we would've rented a canoe. Next time though maybe :] I explored the lakeside and this weird tunnel thing while Tony relaxed in the car, then we went and explored the cafe & bird hide together, as well as the socking great dam that sort of makes up the lake ;p
We stayed for 2 or 3 hours just dawdling with me enjoying the heat and Tony trying to find all the shade he could, then back home. It was a good day.

Not allowed in the tunnel thing

Wow, I am soooo behind in my LJ xd
Today I had been looking forward too for a little while, the mini-festival day in Ironbridge x3 Like last year, they closed off the wharfage and had stalls, and the day was sooo sunny and warm! Me, Dad and Aunty Betty went down to have a mooch about. It was really just nice to see something different, and enjoy the weather x3 We looked at all the stalls but only dad bought something- pickled eggs! XD I was peeved mostly that I wasn't allowed off work for tonight, when it goes dark they light up the ironbridge and I wanted to get photos ;/ Also this year they had projections & fireworks! They also had a fairground & I wanted to try photographing the lights moving and stuff for some interesting photos. Sooooo angry ;d As it turns out I didn't leave work till about 3, but everyone else gets days they want off, or at least a few hours, then come in later in the evening? Blah, next year I'm getting way aahead of them and booking it off the day i hear about it Xp

It's a time machine!

Today I dropped Tony off at Pauls fairly early as they were going on a trip to pick up an ebay item. When I got home we had lunch then Dad suggested going to Newport & looking about to get out and enjoy the patchy-weathered day so away we went :] We went a roundabout way to Newport, and checked out a couple of shops while we were there, dad even got a brewery mentioning ceramic plaque. After we got some drinks from B&M we went onto Norbury Junction, a mooring place for canal barges. We simply found a bench and sat in the sun, we decided to sit there until the sun went in, which took a fair while but was fine people watching.
Then we went onto Gnosall via a small explore walk on an old railway/now walking path, then had a small explore round Gnosall, looking at the church and taking pics. We only nearly got rained on once while we were in Newport, so for a day which threatened rain almost constantly it was good!
Edit: I forgot to mention when I wrote this last night: the thatch cottage has a squirrel on top made of thatching stuff, that is this thatchers mark, along with the pattern along the top of the roof. The acorns I took a pic of cause the ones on the left have a bug in them so the oak has made this strange growth on the acorn to try and protect it or something. The acorn on the right is off the same tree for size/normalacy comparison...k done :]

Typically English or what?
We also saw... )

Today I drove Tony and his brother Paul down to Coventry as Paul bought a car from down there off ebay. I was rly tired at first but by the time we got to the place I felt a bit better. Paul haggled with the old owner a bit and once everything was settled we drove home again. I would've like to explore Coventry bit but I was afraid of getting lost and not getting home in time for tea & work xp The drive home seemed to go a lot faster and when i got to places I knew again I decided to go to newport as there are 3 pet shops there. Because it was sunday though most of the pace was closed and then Tony called asking if I could pick him up. Done for now in Newport I went and got him then took him into work.
I went home, and then got a call from Tony asking if I could pick him up again! So I went and got him then dropped him back off at Pauls and went home. Had tea with dad then off to work, woo!

Boats look pretty on the lake
