Jul. 17th, 2011 10:13 pmThe whole family got to go on a trip this time! We went to do the Taranaki Loop, today we mostly did Route 45.
We stopped at a little beach not long into the drive and explored a cool pier with big waves washing onto it now and then, then went over the beach to check out an old ship wreck! It's been there years. Jen climbed on it and I got some pics, then she took pics as I climbed on it....and promptly got soaked by a huuuge wave, which Jen didn't get pics of! Haha typical.
From there we carried on with the tour and saw loads of things, including those in the pictures below :]

Today I had been looking forward too for a little while, the mini-festival day in Ironbridge x3 Like last year, they closed off the wharfage and had stalls, and the day was sooo sunny and warm! Me, Dad and Aunty Betty went down to have a mooch about. It was really just nice to see something different, and enjoy the weather x3 We looked at all the stalls but only dad bought something- pickled eggs! XD I was peeved mostly that I wasn't allowed off work for tonight, when it goes dark they light up the ironbridge and I wanted to get photos ;/ Also this year they had projections & fireworks! They also had a fairground & I wanted to try photographing the lights moving and stuff for some interesting photos. Sooooo angry ;d As it turns out I didn't leave work till about 3, but everyone else gets days they want off, or at least a few hours, then come in later in the evening? Blah, next year I'm getting way aahead of them and booking it off the day i hear about it Xp

Today was another one of those days to just relax. The weather wasn't brilliant outside, but warm enough anyway, just a lack of sun really. We went to Maccies first for lunch, then when we came home and while i set up the Tiscali internets at my house as the box had finally arrived, Tony went to help out with the BBQ at his house. It didn't take me too long to finish that up once i had realised what I was doing Xp Then i went over Tonys house and joind in the BBQ with his family, which was cool as we sat about, Tony trying not to kill himself on the 10-wheel skateboard while I swapped pokémon with Edward x3
Today I went out with Dad and Jen to Pistyll Rhaeadr falls, obviously in Wales. When we got there we looked at the falls and took the obligatory pictures at the bottom then we went back to the car for lunch. After lunch we trekked up to the top of the falls, it was hard as usual, but after a few shortcuts and a lot of breathing trouble we got there, it seemed to take a bit quicker this time than the last time we went, but it was probably just cause I remembered it to be a little worse than it was XD Anyway, we got to the top of the falls, and took pics there too. We claimed the large rock at the top so anyone else who came along had to find somewhere else to sit or look from, Mwahahah! We crossed the stream to look from the other side, then came back after leaning over the edge for a while xp After exploring a while and taking more pics, we lay on the big rock and fell asleep cause the sun was warm after finally coming out XD After a while we woke up and Dad had gone for a walk but he came back a few mins later, we sat around for a while longer, watching the water, enjoying the sun and taking the last of our pics. It turned out to be a really nice day as the weather had come good and we had spent a nice time claiming our own rock on top of the waterfall (which by the way, when we left a couple of people raced to the top of, we'd obviously been keeping it from them xp)

Today we slept in late, went up the shops for some foods then sat back and enjoyed the day...till Tony had to go to work, then his bike broke down, it should be fixable though without too much difficulty. While Tony was at work (after i dropped him off) Me, Jen and Dad went and played pool up Greys Hotel which was good fun as usual =D

Today we went to a place above Liverpool to a Red Squirrel sanctuary. It was right next to a beach too, first when we got there we had lunch in the car then we went walking through the pine forest where the squirrels were supposed to be, but we didn't see any, so we went to the beach, we didn't stay there too long as it was sooooooo windy! Like crazy soooo windy! We got sand blasted on to the beach, then just blown about while we were on the beach itself, we didn't even wanna touch the sand for fear of us killing ourselves with more wind-blasted sand XD We went back up towards the pine forest then, and let the gerbils out onto some more proteced sand so they could see what it was like as they have never seen a beach before. They didn't seem to care an awful lot, but did a fair bit of the stuff out of the sand Xd We went back into the pine forest then and saw some people gathering at a point, so we went and watched too, where there was a little squirrel eating thrown monkey nuts from the floor. I crept quite close to it, but didn't want to go too close in case i spooked it and then all the people watching would be pissed at me XD A dog came over the ridge though after we'd been watching it 5 mins or so, and it scared the squirrel away cause it wanted to chase it! We went round the corner and found another group of people under some trees and there there were 2 squirrels, which we saw and watched for about half an hour as they ran about fetching nuts and burying them, chasing each other and generally just using up energy! X3 One would come up really close and didn't care that you were there unless you moved towards it, so sweet :3

Today we woke up early again, went and picked up dad's friends Leslie and Roger then went onto Bridgnorth to go Canoeing! It was good fun, i was in a canoe with Tony, dad with Leslie and Jen with Roger. After we got used to the canoe (as it was quite different from a kayak) we went down stream, bashing into the Bridgnorth bridge backwards after spinning out cause of the current XD We didn't go through as many towns as i thought we would though, mostly it was countryside, typical of Shropshire i guess. We stopped halfway after about 2 hours for lunch, dossed for just under an hour messing about in the river and stuff before leaving again and addling for just over another hour before we go to Arley. It was good fun, and we only got beached once, which sucked a bit as me and Tony were doing really well at our paddling by then X3
We went back to Bridgnorth on the steam train, which I've wanted to go on for quite a while, only I was really tired so i feel asleep just after the first stop on the way back xd Later that night I had to work too, owww!

Today we went to a brass band meeting/display thing in Ironbridge. It was okay, but too many people talking rather than playing the instuments. There were a few songs I recognised when they did play though, like one band did an Abba tribute, weird! The pics taken today were generally of us messing around, as the band was in a tiny stage for fear of rain and i couldn't get a photo for the conductor standing in the way, typical!
